Odds & Ends

If you look closely you can see a little lipstick on Caroline's upper lip.  Lucky for me I got to her before she got too out of control!

Caroline eating her apple.  What you do not see here is her spitting out the skin once she has taken a bite.

This may be a better shot of the lipstick.

Tucker trying to help me with the laundry!  (and having so much fun doing it!)

OK so he didn't help that much, but he sure was cute!

Birthday Video

Good Things...

No new pictures to share on this posting.  I thought I'd try something new and list some "Good Things (as Martha would say) that are going on right now.

1.  PMO & school start again on Monday! Yay!!  We are all very excited about this.
2.  Caroline's newest saying is "What should I do, Mom?" as she holds up her hands.  She must have seen this on TV, but it is really cute!
3. Tucker's grin.  Enough said.  It is the best!
4. Caroline is starting to say "no thank you" or "thank you" more and more.  Finally...manners!!
5. Tucker is the best eater I have ever seen.  He loves to pick his food up by himself and eat it.  No more baby here.  He will not eat anything off a spoon as I guess he thinks it is baby food!
6.  Today Hattie and Noah came over to play.  Caroline was especially excited to see them again.  It had been almost two weeks since they have played together.  Oh how they missed each other!
7. As we speak, both kids are napping.  I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to have quiet time for me.  I love it!
8.  Everyday Caroline proves yet again how much she loves her brother.  It is wonderful to watch them play and laugh together.  I am convinced that she thinks we had Tucker just so she would have someone to play with all the time.
9.  One of the best things that Chad and I have done during the break is taking turns getting up with the kids.  This means I get to "sleep in" every other day.  By sleeping in I mean I don't get out of bed until 8:30 or 9.  You probably need to be a parent to fully appreciate this.  Sleeping in is huge!
10.  I finally got a pass to the Fowler Center (gym/workout center)!  Hopefully I will have enough motivation to use it several times a week.

Birthday Boy!!!

Tucker turned 1 today!!!  So of course we had to have the messy birthday cake pictures.  Caroline truly believed that this was her birthday cake, so to avoid a meltdown on this happy day, I let her think that this was her cake.  Unfortunately I loaded the pictures backwards so you see the end result of chocolate cake first.  Scroll from the bottom up and it will make more sense.   (We have a 6 minute long video I have tried several times to post.  It is timing out and not letting me post it to youtube.  I'll try again tomorrow.)

Little Monkey Boy

Maybe he was inspired by his monkey pajamas to climb in the toy basket.  He loves to get in there and just sit an smile and have every toy at his disposal.  The only problem is that he is not so good at getting out.  So of course we help him as we would hate for the almost birthday boy to be in distress.  Notice his curly hair in the last picture.

All Bundled Up

So we were about to walk out the door and Caroline was looking really cute all bundled up with her "pack pack."(aka back pack)  I just wanted to get a quick picture of her but she had other plans.  As soon as she saw the camera she ran away, took her hat off and threw it, fell to the floor and yelled "me not want takey my picture!"  Clearly I took a picture anyway in the midst of my trying not to laugh!

All ready to go on a walk/stroll with Ryan and Megan and Julie.

Tucker was ready for a picture while Caroline was still trying to fix her mits (mittens).

Dinner

Tonight for dinner I made tacos.  I thought the kids would love them.  I was wrong!  Caroline had a salad with Italian dressing instead.  Here is Caroline eating her salad in a real bowl and with a real fork!  She did a great job :)

Bathing Beauties

Tucker and Caroline in the bathtub!

Tucker is either trying to crawl out of the bathtub or get closer to the camera.

Caroline is trying to be like Tucker by putting one of the letters in her mouth.

Tucker is smiling for the camera before we cleaned his face.

Tucker is "swimming" and Caroline is drinking the bath water.  You can tell by the look on her face that she knows she is not supposed to do that!

Kiddos in the tub!

Up to no good!

Yummy ... those letters taste so good with soap on them!
